Gary Moye Architect, Inc. is a full service architecture firm located in Eugene , Oregon .  Established in 1986, the firm is managed by Gary Moye and currently employs a full-time staff of four in addition to its principal.  Since its inception, the firm has undertaken a wide variety of building projects, commercial, institutional, recreational, and residential.  It also provides planning and project definition services for small communities, civic groups, institutional, and academic clients.  

The firm is organized in a studio format.  Gary Moye is the lead designer and project architect for each job.  A project manager is assigned to each project, with additional drawing and technical support provided from within the office and in conjunction with selected consultants.  Design and production – from overall concept to the smallest detail – are integrated by maintaining the continuity of key personnel throughout the life of the project.

DESIGN APPROACH

The practice of architecture is a service to the client and to the people who work, visit, and live in a building.  To be responsive to these people and to support their activities we employ an interactive approach to design.  The client is an integral member of the design team and is involved in all phases of the design process.  We are committed to listening carefully and responding creatively to the vision and needs of our clients.

Buildings are best when they are honest expressions of what is inside them, when they interact sympathetically and fit with their surroundings, and when they are well made with appropriate materials and thoughtful details.

In our work we develop spaces and forms which are a logical reflection of the activities they serve and expressive of their meaning.  Our work is known for a fundamental respect for space, light, structure, and materials.  We combine modern construction techniques with the classical principles of unity, hierarchy, balance, and proportion.
